Today is February 28th, and since it isn’t a leap year, that means today is the last day of February. I set out to write and post every day of this month to both fill up my blog, and challenge myself to write after countless failures to meet writing deadlines. I’m proud to say that I haven’t missed my 2:50 PM deadline once. That’s only twenty-eight times in a row, yes, but besides Ruthy Hebard’s 33 consecutive field goal record, I’d say that’s pretty significant. Sometimes I felt like a journalist, sometimes I felt like I was too far out in left field, but there was no time in which I felt bored.
I am thankful for everyone that has read any single one of these columns. I also appreciate those who helped me edit them or suggested topics, those suggestions are not lost on me and have absolutely lead to a subject I have covered this month. Did I talk about John Mayer a little too much? Yes. Is it just a phase? No, Mom, it’s not just a phase.
My next step in this column is to move further into screenwriting and creating a world that is worth visiting for the readers. I’ll post moderately less often, but hopefully that serves the quality of the work. I’ll invite collaborators. I’ll make this a true writer’s room. Above all else, I’ll tell a story. I may not end up posting every single day, but I will sure as hell write every single day.
